Dewalt compressors: DEWALT has launched a new line of heavy-duty jobsite air compressors, expanding the company’s product offering for professional tool users.

The Dewalt air compressor family includes six different models with electric or gasoline engines, various air tank and output volumes, and hand-carry or portable wheelbarrow-style design.

Most of the DEWALT models feature high-performance, cast iron oil-lubricated pumps for maximum longevitydurability. Air output ranges from 4.4 to 16.2 CFM (cubic feet-per-minute) at 100 PSI (pounds-per-square-inch). Air tanks range in capacity from 4 to 17 gallons, and include quick-drain ball valves for easy and thorough draining.

DEWALT developed its own line of air compressors in conjunction with the expertise of the Emglo Corporation, the industry leader in air compressors for professional contractors. Emglo began making air compressors in 1957 and was the first to make a low-profile wheeled portable compressor; first with a stacked-tank hand-carry compressor; first with a high-pressure wheeled portable compressor; and the first with a gas-powered hand-carry compressor.

DEWALT acquired Emglo last year and has joined resources to initiate a strong entry into the air compressor market. As a result, the new black-and-yellow DEWALT Emglo Compressors combine user-focused innovation with proven air compressor technology and jobsite durability.

Leading the DEWALT Emglo entry into the compressor market is the D55155, a 2-horsepower, 14.5-amp electric hand-carry model with a single 4-gallon tank. Designed by DEWALT for professional contractors, this model has a high-output, oil-lubricated direct drive pump with a cast iron cylinder for longer life. Dual soft-start valves improve cold weather and low-voltage start-up. This unit produces 4.5 CFM of air output at 100 PSI. DEWALT’s innovative design fully guards the gauges and components in addition to offering better ergonomics for easy carrying. The single air tank is ASME- and CSA certified with thicker steel for more durability, and has a protected tool-free, quick-drain ball valve for rapid and thorough draining.

D55153 4-Gallon Hand-Carry Electric Twin Stack Tank

DEWALT also offers the 15-amp electric D55153 portable air compressor, a 2-horsepower, 4-gallon twin stacked hand-carry model. Adapted from Emglo’s design, this unit has a high-performance, direct drive oil-lubricated pump with a cast iron cylinder and twin tank setup for another option on the job site. Air output is 4.5 cfm CFM at 100 PSIpsi. with dual soft-start valves for improved cold weather start-up.

D55250 4-Gallon Hand-Carry Gasoline Twin Stack Tank

The D55250 compressor is DEWALT’s gasoline-powered 4-horsepower, 4-gallon twin stacked hand-carry model. Derived from Emglo, this unit features a high-performance, direct drive oil-lubricated pump, and puts out 4.4 CFM of air at 100 PSI. The reliable Honda gas engine has automatic idle control to reduce fuel consumption as well as a low-oil shut-off mechanism to safeguard the engine. Protected gauges and components make the D55250 ideal for the jobsite with no electricity required.

D55170 8-Gallon Electric Wheelbarrow Compressor

The D55170 single-wheel portable compressor has a low-profile design for easy handling on the jobsite. This unit uses the reliable cast iron Emglo twin cylinder, belt-driven oil-lubricated pump to generate 6.5 CFM of air output at 100 PSI. The 8-gallon twin air tank has a quick-drain ball valve for rapid and thorough draining. Ideal for contractors, the D55170 features an on/off constant run motor mechanism that minimizes the need to reset the electrical breaker. The unit also comes with a pneumatic tire that absorbs shocks during use and improves mobility.

D55270 8-Gallon Gasoline Wheelbarrow Compressor

A versatile compressor for contractors, the D55270 uses a reliable 5.5-horsepower Honda gas engine for no-electricity convenience. This motor is built to last -- with automatic idle control to reduce fuel consumption and a low-oil shut off mechanism for greater engine protection. Using Emglo’s proven compressor expertise, the D55270 air compressor has a cast iron, twin cylinder belt-driven oil-lubricated pump producing 8.9 CFM of air output at 100 PSI. The 8-gallon twin air tank has a quick-drain ball valve for rapid and thorough draining. A low profile, wheelbarrow-style design makes the D55270 easy to maneuver with a pneumatic tire that provides shock absorption on the jobsite.

D55275 17-Gallon Gasoline Wheelbarrow Compressor

Featuring a cast iron, 4-cylinder belt-driven oil-lubricated pump, the Dewalt D55275 portable compressor produces 16.2 CFM of air output at 100 PSI. The 17-gallon single tank unit is ASME-certified and has a quick-drain ball valve for rapid and thorough draining. The reliable 8-horsepower Honda gas engine has automatic idle control to reduce fuel consumption, and a low-oil shut-off mechanism for greater engine protection. Built with DEWALT Emglo expertise, the D55275 has dual pneumatic tires for increased shock absorption and a portable design for easy handling on the jobsite.
